Over the last three decades, the APK has evolved into Germany’s signature business event in Asia where top business and government leaders from Germany and Asia-Pacific gather every two years to discuss business and related issues. With every single of the past 15 conferences, the APK has greatly increased in significance and attendance, now attracting up to 1,000 participants many of which are decision-making representatives of economy, business associations, and politics. Here is an overview of the last three APKs.
APK 2016 Hong kong
With the 15th edition of the high-level business conference and for the first time since its establishment, the APK has exceeded the mark of 1,000 attendees. Participants from over 26 countries – among them 117 speakers – gathered in Hong Kong from 03 – 05 November 2016 for the 15th APK to deepen the dialogue on topics such as Innovation, Industry 4.0, Mobility, and Urbanization. Within over 20 hours of intensive discussions and debates and many opportunities for networking, the conference has once again set an agenda for Asian-German economic cooperation.
APK 2014 - Vietnam
The 14th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK) took place from 20 to 22 November 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (GIC) was the local host and organizer of the event. The conference theme was “Understanding Trends and Perspectives” focused on industries and trends of the future, where cooperation between businesses in Germany and Asia-Pacific region can thrive. The two-day conference featured 19 topics and 28 hours of debates. 94 speakers were invited to the conference and more than 800 participants from 31 countries attended. Delegates had ample opportunity to speak, listen and network during the conference. Together, they have created concepts and solutions for a more sustainable future.
APK 2012 - India
The 13th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK) was held from 01 – 03 November 2012 at Gurgaon, Delhi. The conference attracted more than 750 delegates from 15 countries. The theme of the 13th APK was “Partnership, Innovation and Sustainability – Towards Sustainable Growth”. Special focus was rendered to businesses in ASEAN during the conference period. German-ASEAN Chamber Network (GACN) was founded in the presence of the German Federal Minister of Economics and Technology, Dr. Philipp Rösler, to facilitate German companies’ activities in the region.
